The National Yacht Club is currently seeking to recruit a team of committed sailing instructors and coaches for our Summer courses.

Our Instructors are of the highest quality in terms of professionalism, attitude, technical ability and passion for sailing.

Instructors will be responsible for the development of the clubs youngest members, a role that is taken extremely seriously by the club.

All instructors must have current and valid instructorship qualifications for the position to which they are applying and be available for  interview early in the new year.
We are delighted to announce that the National Yacht Club will be running it’s summer courses over the following provisional dates:

Course 1 Tues 2nd June – Fri 12th June

Course 2 Mon 15th June – Fri 26th June

Course 3 Mon 29th June – Fri 10th July

Course 4 Mon 13th July – Fri 24th July

Course 5 Mon 27th July – Fri 7th Aug

 
We are currently looking to fill the following positions:

  1. Assistant Senior Instructor x 1
  2. Racing coach x 1
  3. Advanced Instructors: x 3
  4. Dinghy Instructors x 10

Job Descriptions

Dinghy Instructor: Enthusiastic, and highly motivational staff, to teach  Taste of Sailing, Start Sailing, Basic skills and Improving skills in sailing dinghies to sailors from the age of 8.

Advanced Instructor: (Kites and Wires, Adventure and Advanced Boat Handling)
Excellent level of personal skill and a true passion for the sport. The ideal candidate will be able to facilitate the development of skilled, independent sailors and instruct and asses kites and wires 1 & 2  and advanced boat handling or Racing 1 and advanced Boat Handling or adventure 1 & 2 and advanced boat handling.

Racing Instructor:

The ideal candidate with have a vast experience of racing, including team racing and would be willing to motivate and coach juniors in this field.  They will be responsible for assessing racing 1 and advanced boat handling.

Racing Coach:

The Coach must have excellent technical knowledge of the boats in question and an intimate knowledge of coaching techniques and development. He/ She will work extremely closely with the Senior Instructor and is responsible for go Racing 2 and running our performance group coaching clinics.

Note 

It is expected that all applications for the above positions will meet the following criteria:

  1. Have obtained the correct IS level of instructorship or higher.
  2. All certifications must in date.
  3. Be Garda vetted.
  4. Applicants who are not Garda vetted must show proof at time of interview that they have applied via the IS to be vetted.
  5. All applicants must have instructed before.
