The Brains of the Bay quiz season was exhumed on Wednesday 21st October, when 19 teams returned (or participated for the first time) for an exciting and pulsating quiz, which went to a tie break when Quiztopher Columbus and Answers Aweigh finished level on points. First-time participants Answers Aweigh prevailed to set up the remainder of the season as a challenge to the existing bulwarks of the Dun Laoghaire harbour intelligentsia. We welcome Answers Aweigh, Thin Quizzy, and the returning The Quizzly Bears to the quiz. In the absence of reigning Brains of the Bay Wizard, it was an opportunity for many teams to get a head start. However, seasoned campaigners Enchantress, Corner Boys, Celtic Boys and Chancellors could not make an impact, putting paid to the claim of âa year older, a year wiserâ. Still, T.B.M. and Quiztopher Columbus kept the newbies honest. The next round is hotly anticipated.
