TY Sailability Workshop NYC March 25th

We are running a Disability awareness course on Wednesday 25th March from 3pm to 6pm  in the JB room at NYC .
 
The purpose of this short course is to teach the specific skills required to assist children (and adults) with physical and/or sensory disabilities to learn to sail. There will be a theory section first which will take place in the JB room and this will be followed by a short practical session on the Pontoon at NYC providing some practical tips on assisting Sailability sailors in and out of the boats.
 
There is no charge for this course but places are limited to 20 students on a first come first served basis.

Pre-requisites:
- Minimum age 17 (attendees who will be 17 within 6 months of the course i.e are    16.5 can attend the course)
- Irish Sailing SBSS Pre-entry Assessment
- Irish Sailing National Powerboat Certificate
- Valid Emergency Care Certificate
- Current Irish Sailing Garda Vetting Clearance
- Valid Sport Ireland Safeguarding 1 Certificate
- Hold current valid Irish Sailing Membership

Cost €350 for NYC members - €450 for non members

- 8 participants maximum on a first come first served basis

Junior Spring Training Dinghy Programme – Saturday Afternoons

Our Junior Handed Dinghy  Spring Training Programme returns on Saturday 31st January and will run for 9 weeks. It is open to Optimists, Toppers, ILCA 4s, 29ers and 49er FXs.

Additionally to the Saturday regular training, Juniors will be offered February mid term extra days training (a separate booking form will be issued)

Dates: Jan 31, Feb 7, Feb 14, Feb 16 (skiff and Dinghies only), Feb 17 (skiff and Dinghies only), Feb 18 (skiff and Dinghies only), Feb 20 (Optimist Only), Feb 21, Feb 22 (Optimist only), Feb 28, Mar 7, Mar 14, Mar 21, Mar 28

Full programme fee: €280
per session fee: €25

Club boats charter options: Toppers and one Laser 4.7 (ILCA 4) available / Full programme: €180 per boat, By session: book on the Club website if any availability

Training starts at 13.00 with the daily briefing (rigged and ready unless stated otherwise by the coach) and finishes after debrief is completed around 17.00

Please note that boats will need to be removed after training and before April 5th to facilitate the annual lift-in

St Brigid Fun Regatta, 2nd Feb, First Gun at 11.00

NOTICE OF RACE & Entry Form

  1. The St Brigid Regatta will be a single fun race around Dun Laoghaire harbour.
  2. The regatta will be timed and scored under PY. Classes admitted are Optimist, Topper, ILCA4, ILCA6, Feva, Mirror, Aero 5, Aero 6, 29ers. Topper Charter boats for children who already charter for the Saturday training.
  3. This is a fun regatta and should be raced in the spirit of enjoyment for all, wither a beginner or a seasoned racer. The RRS will be applied with provision made on learning over “punishing”.
  4. The regatta is open to all juniors (U19)and instructors (U25). Entry can completed online below - Entry fee is 10EUR
  5. There will be two starts
  6. Slow PY will start in front of the club at 10.00 (warning signal at 9.55): Optimist, Topper, Mirror
  7. Fast PY will start in front of the club at 10.10 (warning signal at 10.05): ILCA 4, ILCA6, Feva, 29er, Aero 5, Aero 6.
  8. The course will be described at briefing at 9.20 just before launching
  9. The race will be umpired (no protest back ashore)
  10. Medals for the top 3 boats, prizes for the best dressed sailor, the best dressed boat (
)

On the night our allstar sailors take over the dining room for a 3 course meal, and parents are banished to the JB Room! 😉

We are Hiring – 2026 Instructors

We are preparing for an amazing 2026 season and we are ready to build our enthusiastic team of instructors. We will attempt to run a short week over the Easter holidays and our 10 week long summer courses will kick start on June 2nd.
