The NYC is delighted to announce that Mr. Gearoid O’Riain, a long time member of the Club, has agreed to succeed Mr. Jim Gorman as our resident tutor for our ‘Enhanced International Certificate of Competency’ (I.C.C.) courses going forward.
Gearoid is a life-long sailor with many offshore cruising achievements including sailing the northwest passage and the far north. He currently holds a Yachtmaster Offshore for Power & Sail and is a fully qualified shore based RYA instructor.
Gearoid has just completed 5 years as Sea Scout Commissioner which includes safety standards, boating qualifications, boat certification and continues in these roles for Dun Laoghaire Sea Scouts.
Following the cancellation of our first course, the Club is delighted to be in a position to reschedule this valuable course (I.C.C.is now required by most Yacht Chartering Companies Worldwide) albeit starting at the later date of 20th January (previously advertised as starting on Monday 13th).
The course is limited to 12 participants on a first come first served basis!
