Topper Traveller Number 5 Rush Sailing Club
The National Yacht Club was represented by Adam Irvin, Eoghan Turner, Deirdre Turner, Caoimhe Seymour, Mathew O’Brien Holohan and Hugh O’Connor at the Topper Traveller in Rush on Sunday 9th September . Conditions were challenging, windy and gusty. Sixty two competitors signed up for the event which was a fantastic number for the final Topper Traveller in the series.
Rush started the event with a large welcome and a hot dog for every sailor. Four races were completed for both the 5.3 and 4.2 Rig in the allocated time.
Three of our sailors were in the top ten within the 5.3 Rig, with Eoghan Turner performing the best of the National Sailors taking 2nd place overall. Hugh O’Connor came third in the U17,and Deirdre Turner came in 9th place while Caoimhe Seymour came 3rd overall in the 4.2 Rig. Well done to all our sailors who are maintaining the high standards within the Topper fleet.
