NYC’s Gorman & Doorly 4th at Flying Fifteen British Championships

Jul 2, 2018 | Sailing

Seven Flying Fifteens from the NYC traveled to Whiterock in Strangford Lough last week to compete in the 50 strong top class fleet. With consistent sailing and a bit of luck Dave Gorman & Chris Doorly came out best of the Irish with an impressive fourth place finish after three races of the scheduled eight were completed on Saturday. With the current ‘weather event’ there was no sailing on the first three days as there was no wind so it became one of the most social events for years! Ian & Keith sailed well but were unfortunate with a DSQ, others had good and not so good moments and learnt a lot about big fleet racing.

Other boats from the National included:
Ian Mathews & Keith Poole,
Neill Colman & Mick Quinn,
Tom Murphy & Andrew Bracken.
Peter Sherry & Michael Cotter,
Gavin Doyle & Dave Sweeney
Ross Doyle& Robbie Richardson (SLYC)
