For added convenience, all hull cleaning is carried out by a member of staff using hot-water power washing, so there is no need for owners to get wet or dirty.

Greystones Cruise
The May Bank Holiday weekend marked the first National Yacht Club Cruising Group âSail in Companyâ of the season from DĂșn Laoghaire to Greystones. Thirteen boats and more than 60 crew took part in the 10-nautical-mile passage in a gentle north-easterly breeze of 8â12 knots. With a light following sea and many yachts flying asymmetric sails, the fleet enjoyed near-perfect early-season sailing conditions.
ECHO 90 Update
You will have seen the ECHO 90 ketch moored in front of the Club since the start of the season, and may be wondering about her purpose.
Well, as a training vessel with disabled access, she has been in use in the Sailability Programme bringing disabled children out for a sail on the Bay. With the able assistance of Damian Quinn, Brian Geraghty and Pau Barrington, she participates in the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Sailability outings, and on May 17th was a key element of the Sailability Day out of the RIYC.
On the training side, she is also used in the Adult training on Sundays bringing new sailors out on the water. As a ketch, with furling jib, reefable mainsail and mizzen, she has a very flexible sailplan with relatively easily handled small sails. Thus, Thomas uses her to bring the Nippers out for a spin on Fridays. She is also equipped with symmetric and asymmetric spinnakers making her suitable for more advanced spinnaker handling training.
If you are interested in giving her a try, please contact Thomas (headcoach@nyc.ie) and he can arrange a familiarisation session with one of the folks more experienced with handling her.

Junior Summer Course Booking – Now Open
Our junior summer courses are now open for booking.
The fee per course is âŹ350 for the first full course, non-members âŹ400
Advanced Sailing â Keelboats âŹ450, non-members âŹ500
Advanced Sailing â Kites & Wires âŹ350, non-members âŹ400
The Harbour Hoppers and Mini Mariners courses are a one week half day course (morning or afternoon; no supervision over lunch) following the Taste of Sailing syllabus for 6-8 year olds getting out on the water in different types of boats and gaining confidence. No experience required.
The fee for this course is âŹ130.00 per child. Please also note our cancellation policy.

Junior Friday Night Series 2026

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Dun Laoghaire Harbour, the Junior Summer Series 2026 is where young sailors come to race, learn, and have a seriously good time on the water.
This much-loved series brings together the next generation of sailors for a perfect mix of competition, camaraderie, and summer energy.
From Optimists to ILCA6s, Toppers to RS Fevas, the racing is open, inclusive, and designed to challenge sailors of all levels under 19. Whether you're chasing podium finishes or building confidence on the start line, this series is about progression as much as performance.
Each Friday evening features two short, exciting races sailed on a triangle course inside the harbourâideal for sharpening skills in a safe, dynamic environment. And itâs not just about results: coaching, encouragement, and fun are at the heart of every race.
Highlights include:
- âGirls at the Helmâ Evening (June 12th) â celebrating female sailors with special prizes and spotlight races
- Post-race BBQ & Prizegiving (June 19th) â a relaxed finale to wrap up the series in style
- Medals & Fun Prizes across all classes and categories

Summer Platform Parking 2026 – Applications now open – Important Guidelines Apply!!
All members wishing to park a boat (or more than one) on the Club platform for the summer should immediately apply to do so after reading the important updates & guidelines below which we had to put in place following the postponement of the annual keelboats lift-in from April 11th to April 18th...
THE PLATFORM WILL PROGRESSIVELY REOPEN ON A PHASED BASIS FOR PARKING FROM WEDNESDAY 22nd APRIL AS PER THE SCHEDULE BELOW:
- From Wednesday 22nd @ 2.00pm the platform will reopen for Flying Fifteens and SB20s intending to take part in the first DBSC race on Thursday 23rd April
- On Friday 24th from 2.00pm we will readmit dinghyâs intending to take part in sailing activities that weekend (no coaching but DBSC Racing resumes for dinghies), including 29ers and 49ers entered in the 9ers Eastern.
- We invite all other dinghy owners to only bring back their dinghyâs on the deck from Monday 27th April
