Sunday Funday is back…!
Back by popular demand, we are now running a family fun day every Sunday from 1:30pm to 5:00pm.
Come along and try out our sailing boats, or why not take out a SUP or kayak!
We are also working on pricing, terms and conditions and skipper ability assessment procedure to release our new Club J80s to competent members for Funday Sundays...So not quite there yet but hopefully this will soon be an option as well...

Update on the Traveller Events in Blessington Sailing Club
The Dun Laoghaire Topper Group had another great day at the recent Traveller event held in Blessington Sailing Club on Sunday 12th May, with 12 sailors representing the Waterfront. There was a beautiful sunny and calm start to the morning, but the wind picked up enough for a good dayâs sailing on the water. Among the Prizewinners were 4 sailors from the NYC:

Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta – 8 weeks to start
With 8 Weeks to go to the first gun off Dun Laoghaireâs famous harbour for the 8th edition of the Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta, 420 boats are already entered across 36 Classes, and more than half the entries are visiting craft. Midweek Nippers 2019 – Registration now open!
We have just opened the nipperâs course to potential members introduced to the NYC by an existing member as their one course to try (once per family). The course cost âŹ100, but there will be an additional charge for this courses of âŹ50.
In May and June every year the Club runs coaching sessions one evening a week for Minors from 6 to 8 years old.
This is very popular and is a great way, particularly for children and parents to make new friends.
The sailing is done in Optimists and no boat is required..
Starting on Wednesday 22nd of May for 6 weeks (until 26th June) and running from 1730 to 1930. The cost is âŹ100 per child. Registrations are currently only open to Full and Family members.CHILDREN MUST BE AGED BETWEEN 6y AND 8y at the start of the Nippers programme!
Optimist Ulsterâs (Skerries) – Main fleet Coach support
The club will be providing coach support for the event, for Main Fleet Sailors
- Cost âŹ50 for the 2 days
- Limited to 8 sailors
- Please register by Friday 17th May
- This program is not open to sailors in the âRegatta Fleetâ, as they receive coaching from IODAI.

Success for the NYC Topper Fleet in Cork â next stop, Blessington
A hardy bunch of Topper sailors went down to Cork as part of the overall NYC fleet attending the ISA Youth Nationals event in RCYC, and acquitted themselves very well despite the challenging conditions â a distinct excess of wind on Friday and Saturday, followed by...
