DBSC Race Training Mini-Series Information
Because of the interest shown in our Irish Sailing approved Race Training Mini-Series starting next Saturday, 15th May, DBSC wishes to inform its members of the following information.
Race training between Saturday 15th May and 7th June is provided for:
Keelboat fleets on Thursdays and Saturdays only
Dinghy Fleets on Tuesdays and Saturdays
Water Wags on Wednesdays
2 Handed Feva Sailing @ NYC – Expressions of interest
Due to popular demand the NYC Junior team are running both Learning and Racing Feva Clinics in Summer Courses.
The RS Feva is an exciting two person, 3 sail, asymmetric, robust, and colourful boat - suited for the more social, team oriented sailor aged between 11 and 15, boys and girls.
âLearningâ will be designed to move on from oppies and toppers, âRacingâ could be the two handed pathway into RS200s or 29er or any racing boat â see boat info: https://www.rssailing.com/project/rs-feva/
There are 30+ boats in the harbour and plenty of interclub activity in addition to regional events. Numbers are limited but the club have two Fevas for charter.
Courses 1 and 2 are full or nearly full, Course 3, Course 4 and Course 5 will be arranged if there is demand.

Junior Summer Courses 1 & 2 (7th June – 2nd July) – REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN!
Summer courses/clinics registration are now open for Summer Courses 1 and 2.
We will have a waiting list system, so if you donât get into your desired clinic, please make sure to put your name on the waiting list.
Registration for courses 3, 4 and 5 will go live in a few weeks. We are not posting all courses at this time due to the changing conditions with the pandemic and the question on whether racing events will or will not be taking place.
Course 1 â 7th June â 18th June // Course 2 â 21st June â 2nd July

Tuesday nights Nippers now open for registrations!
Due to popular demand, we are opening a second group of Nippers on Tuesday evenings!!!
6 evenings 18th May until 22nd June.
Price - âŹ150.
We provide boats, kayaks, knot board etc.
You bring your sailors in wetsuit, cag, booties and life jacket. Make sure to bring a towel and change of clothes in case they get wet or go swimming.

The National Yacht Club is delighted to host the Irish Cruiser Racing Association's National Championships 2021 from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th September.

NYC RS Feva Spring 2021 Club Coaching Programme
Sundays May 16th, 23rd, 30th
Costs: âŹ75 per sailor for three sessions
Morning group 9.30am -12.30pm
Introduction to Fevas. 8 places
Afternoon group 1.30pm - 4.30pm
Experienced Feva sailors. 10 places.

Women On the Water – National Yacht Club April 2021
On behalf of the team Rosemary, Marie and Aisling, we would like to welcome all the Laser and Aero sailors to the National YC, both men and women of all abilities. We have a WhatsApp Group so if you are interested in sailing at the moment just have your name added to the group. There are regular posts on who is planning to sail, when and at what time we are launching! It is very casual at present as under the Covid-19 guidelines we can only sail separately but it has been a lot of fun and great to be on the water. When things open up we hope to arrange a back to Laser sailing, improving your Laser sailing skills including Aeroâs coaching eventâs so please keep an eye out for this and sign up when you see or get a notice from us.
In the meantime, please drop down to the Club and ask for any of the above if you have questions or want to join us for a sail.
