Sunday, 4th March 2018 – Crone Wood.
Meet at Crone Wood Carpark at 10.45 a.m.
Please arrive early as carpark fills up quickly and walk starts punctually at 11am.
Directions: Simplest route is the R755 from Kilmacanogue up Rocky Valley, signposted Glendalough and Laragh. After 2 kms turn right on the R 760 signposted Powerscourt Waterfall (rather than heading up towards the Sugar Loaf).
Follow the Waterfall signs at the Coolakay/Ballyorney Junction and straight on to the Dargle River (waterfall entrance), bearing sharp right. Crone Wood is on LHS, a further 1.5 kms on. (Sheet 56 â 19/14)
It can also be reached on the R760 from Enniskerry, following the Waterfall signs and straight on at the Coolakay/ Ballyorney Junction.
Please bring a packed lunch for a break at the half way mark.
Also walking boots and rain gear – (Definitely NO dogs).
This is open to all National members and friends and we look forward to welcoming new people to our group.
It is a varied walk of about 3 hourâs duration, including the lunch break and a climb of about 950 ft; suitable for all abilities.
