Performance coaching development programme
In order to progress the skills of our racing sailors during the winter months, the NYC is planning to set a coaching development programme in the early phases of the Autumn. It will be open to qualified instructors and experienced Performance sailors in the classes we sail in the club. It will include classroom workshops. Shorebased technical development and shadowing experienced coaches in training and at events. The aim is to grow a team of coaches able to lead or support the various club programmes.
The intention is to start on the following dates

6pm on august 31st
6pm on sept 1st

Adult Summer 2023 Laser & RS Aero Coaching Sessions – Wednesday Evenings
The NYC is staging Laser & RS Aero coaching for adults of all ability (from new or returning to sailing to experienced sailors) on Wednesday evenings.

Over 100 Boats Competed at National Yacht Club’s Junior Regatta
Some sunshine and gentle sailing breezes on Dublin Bay allowed a full programme of three races for Wednesday's (19th July) National Yacht Club Junior Regatta sponsored by Sia Partners NextGen Consulting.
Over 100 boats contested the regatta in an in-harbour fleet at Dun Laoghaire and a main fleet that raced on Dublin Bay.

N.Y.C. Junior Regatta – Wednesday 19th July – NOR / Entry Form / SIs
The N.Y.C. Junior Regatta, kindly sponsored by Sia Partners Next Gen Consulting will take place on Wednesday 19th July.

â âŹ30 for 2-handed boats
- Registration will take place on Tuesday 18th 17:00 to 18:30 and on Wednesday 19th July 08:15 â 09:00 at the NYC Race Office.
- Competitors briefing 09:15 on Wednesday 19th
- Launching for both fleets is scheduled to commence at 10:00hrs with the first warning signal for the Harbour Fleet at 10:45 and the Main Fleet at 11:15.

ELMO Trophy expression of interest sought…
The Elmo Trophy is a team racing event for juniors that will be raced over the weekend of 26-27 of August in Dun Laoghaire.
This event will see teams from around Ireland and the UK competing.
Team must consist of 6 members from the same club, school or dinghy association. At least 2 members must be aged 16 and under on 31st December 2023 and all team members be aged 19 or under on 31st December 2023 AND still attending second level education in 2023 (i.e. the event is not aimed at University Students).
The National Yacht Club is seeking expression of interest from our juniors and instructors to constitute one or several teams.
The club head coach will help in building and preparing the team(s) prior to the event.
