The Volvo Gill Optimist Spring Championships
Optimist Events : The Volvo Gill Optimist Spring Championships took place recently in the UK hosted by the Royal Lymington Yacht Club. There were 175 sailors in total split into two flights.
Winter Topper Championships
A huge congratulations to all our sailors who partook in the Winter Topper Championships in Killyleagh Yacht Club up North under testing conditions. All the hard work over the winter has paid off with NYC sailors taking the top slots. Natasha Hemeryck came in first overall as well scooping up the 1st Lady Prize and Hugh O'Connor coming in 2nd overall. Caoimhe Seymour came in 3rd in the 4.2 series. Many congratulations to them all.
Congratulations also to Christian Houlahan (A regular Participant at the Topper Clinics at the NYC) who came first in the 4.2 series and to Conn Murphy and Finn Cleary (All regular Participants at the Topper Clinics at the NYC) who also competed.
St Patrick’s Week-end Topper Clinic
The National Yacht Club is organising a Topper coaching clinic on Saturday 17th, Sunday 18th and Monday 19th March 2018.
The price is âŹ120 per sailor for the 3 days. Please register here
420 Open Clinic with Graeme Grant – April 2018
The National Yacht Club is organising an open coaching clinic with 420 coach Graeme Grant on Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd April 2018.
The price is âŹ60 per sailor for the 2 days and places are limited to 12 boats only.
You must be taking part in the Youth Nationals to take part in this coaching. Register Here
Carmel Winkelman receives the Irish Sailing Presidentâs Award
At the recent ISA Sailing Awards held in the RDS on 9th February, Our very own Carmel Winkelman, a nonagenarian of the National Yacht Club who has been at the forefront of the junior sailing training since the 1960s, received the Irish Sailing Presidentâs Award.
