The ever-popular National Yacht Club table quiz resumes on October 18th next.
Each year, through the winter months, we hold a series of table quizzes every second Wednesday. The quizzes are a very popular and enjoyable social event with questions suited to all tastes and ages. Last year, we had a regular turnout of approximately 100 members and guests that made for entertaining evenings â as long as the Quizmaster plays along!
To recognise the incredible week for Irish Sailing, when Team Irelandâs 29ers won both the World and the European Championships in Weymouth and Stockholm and Finn Lynch qualified Ireland for the Paris 2024 Olympics, Irish Sailing and National Yacht Club are hosting a âHomecoming Celebrationâ next Saturday 26th August @ 6:30pm.
World Champions Clementine and Nathan Van Steenberge
Female Vice World Champions Emily and Jessica Riordan
European Champions Ben OâShaughnessy and Ethan Spain
Female European Champions Lucia Cullen and Alana Twomey
We hope as many Members, friends and family will join us in celebrating their success.
The National Yacht Club, its Officers, Members and Staff would like to extend a huge congratulation to sister and brother Clementine (Helm) and Nathan (Crew) Van Steenberge for their amazing 1st place at the 29er World Championships in Weymouth!
We are actively preparing a homecoming celebration in the very near future and further communication for the date, time and format of the event will be circulated early next week!
The scale of this huge achievement can only be apprehended when realising that 'Our Champions' came top of the league of 205 competitors (Gold Fleet = 50, Silver Fleet = 52, Bronze Fleet = 52 and Emerald Fleet = 51) from 25 countries, some of which have huge fleet and expert 29er sailors...
