This is the first of our âSail in Companyâ cruises of 2024 as part of the NYC Cruising Group. The plan is to depart Dun Laoghaire at 12:30 on Sunday 5 May on board our boats and muster in the area of Scotsmanâs Bay before departing for Greystones. We are hoping...
The reinvigoration of the NYC cruising club got off to an excellent start last month with the speaking supper addressed by Pat lawless. There was a lot of support, and we were in a position, from the profits of the night, to give Pat a significant contribution towards his next GGR trip.
Following that dinner, we have established a subcommittee to progress matters, consisting of Andrew Collins, David Lawler, Damien Payne and I, Frank Cassidy. If there's anybody interested in joining that subcommittee, please let me know and we will arrange it.
The agreed plan is as follows:
Friday 1st December saw the end of the events on our 2023 golfing calendar with the coming together for our annual Christmas dinner in the club.
Unfortunately, due to unfavourable weather we had to cancel our outing in Killiney Golf Club but 22 of us met for dinner in the club that evening.
We had a wonderful time with the group of us sitting around one table telling stories, jokes and singing songs until late into the night.
Peter Brennan was the worthy winner of The Golfer of the Year trophy with 154 points over 5 outings.
Well done Peter, you managed to stay ahead of the chasing pack made up of Tony Corcoran, Seamus O'Morain, John Westman and Peter Ryan.
