The largest ever gathering of ‘foiling machines’ in Ireland took place at the National Yacht Club hosting the Drushambo Gunpowder Gin 2017 Moth & Waszp Class Irish Championships from September 28th to October 1st.
A fleet of 8 Irish based Moths was completed by 7 high flying visitors from the UK, including the Nacra 17 and 49er World Champions who came with only two objectives…having a good time…and beat that annoyingly talented Irish Guy ‘ RoryFitz.
Well, mission accomplished on both counts as these stunning photographs and videos below demonstrate.
The Moths were accompanied for the first time by the first ever Irish gathering of 6 new Waszp One Design boats ably coached and encouraged by Waszp OD Irish agent John Chambers…congratulations to the ‘junior Moth Class’ for getting out there, with Jemima Owens only taking delivery of her boat on the Friday morning yet smoothly gliding over the waves on Saturday and Sunday!
