18,000 oysters placed in Dublin Bay in bid to establish reef
Tremendous congratulations and heartfelt thanks from all our community, to our members, David and Marguerite Lawlor, and the Green Ocean Foundation for their incredible work on the reintroduction of oyster beds in Dublin Bay.

Quiz update
A quiz surprise occurred on Wednesday, with Chancellors taking home the spoils, beating T.B.M. in a tiebreak (no surprise!) to win the second of our series of table quizzes. The Dirty Ruckers, Grasshopper, and Wizard all tied for a close third. We welcomed The Quizard of Oz as a new team, and family pride was at stake with the Madiganâs being represented on three different teams. To avoid controversy, the father moved from his own team to join his sonâs, and the scores of both teams went up!
Our next quiz takes place on the 19th November, at 8pm sharp. All are welcome to join â come along singly or as a team, and enjoy the fun and prizes.

Weâre delighted to announce that Wednesday, 29th October marks the much-anticipated return of our popular Wine Suppers.
On the night, weâll be joined by guest speaker Liam Campbell, who will share his insights and expertise to make the evening truly special.
Liam Campbell has nearly 30 years of experience leading wine tastings, backed by a WSET Diploma in Wine & Spirits and a Diploma in Craft Beer & Cider.
Certified as an Educator by WSET and the Cava Academy, he delivers engaging and insightful sessions to enhance appreciation of wine and drinks.
A distinguished wine writer for over 24 years, Liam is a member of the Circle of Wine Writers and currently serves as Wine & Drinks Editor for Hotel and Restaurant Times. He has previously contributed to TheTaste.ie, the Irish Independent, The Dubliner, and Easy Food Magazine.
Liam has been a tasting judge at international wine and spirits competitions for over a decade, including Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, the International Taste Institute (Brussels), Michelangelo (South Africa), and Bacchus (Madrid).

Quiz Update
The NYCâs winter quiz season kicked off again last Wednesday, when the regulars and the newcomers all packed into the dining room for a hectic table quiz.
The heat of the room must have got to the participants as the winning score, from perennial table-toppers Wizard, reflected a lowly 72% rate of correct answers. Well, either the heat or the particularity of the questions themselves!
Some competitors rose above the conditions. Following Wizard home were T.B.M. and Quiztopher Columbus, with the debutante two-woman team The Trenchers achieving a noteworthy 4th place finish. Stars Of The Sea completed out the placings and deserve a commendation for their orthography.
The next quiz will take place on Wednesday, the 5th November at 8.00pm sharp! All are welcome to join us for a fun evening â true or false?
