On the night our allstar sailors take over the dining room for a 3 course meal, and parents are banished to the JB Room! đ

Christmas Quiz Update
Ho ho hole lotta fun was had on Wednesday night at the Christmas quiz dinner. Yule never believe who won. Well, you will believe, but that wouldnât have worked as a pun. T.B.M. compounded their good early season form and their recent win, with another win ahead of erstwhile champions Wizard. The T.B.M. team must have studied hard on Christmas related topics because they scored 62 out of a total of 66 questions, a truly tremendous performance. The Salopettes got into the festive spirit with a much-improved return of 3rd place, and Quiztopher Columbus and The Dirty Ruckers filled the remaining places.
In the standings for overall lead in the quiz series, Wizard continue to force the pace, but T.B.M. are effectively tied. A sobering up Corner Boys share 3rd place overall with Quiztopher Columbus. Tango get this weeks mention for a continued improvement in their showing.
The quiz will return on January 21st 2026. The Quizmaster would like to take this opportunity to wish Sara, Michael, all the club staff, and all the quiz participants a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous and joy-filled new year. Next yearâs questions are already being craftedâŠ

Mark took on the Atlantic alone, racing a 6.5-metre boat across thousands of miles of open ocean with no outside assistance, no weather routing, and no support â just skill, resilience, and determination. Battling relentless seas, shifting winds, exhaustion, and isolation, Mark pushed himself to the absolute limit.
His journey culminated in an extraordinary 20th-place photo finish after 17 intense days at sea, making Mark the youngest Irish Sailor to cross the Atlantic Solo, a testament to razor-thin margins, mental toughness, and relentless focus.
From moments of pure exhilaration to the harsh realities of solo life offshore, Mark will share what it truly takes to survive â and compete â in one of sailingâs most demanding races.
Expect gripping stories, hard-won lessons, and an honest look at courage, preparation, and perseverance on the Atlantic Ocean.
