Junior Summer Courses 2019 - Dates / Plans
The summer course dates for our two week ISA sailing courses in 2019 are as follows:
Course 1: Tues 4th â Fri 14th June
Course 2: Mon 17th â Fri 28th June
Course 3: Mon 1st - Fri 5th July
Course 4: Mon 15th July â Fri 26th July
Course 5: Mon 29th July âFri 9th Aug
We will be running the full suite of ISA levels over each two week course (Start Sailing, Basic Skills, Improving Skills, Racing, Advanced Boat handling, Adventure
Please note there will not be any sailing course on the second week in July as the Volvo Dun Laoghaire week is July 11-14th
update on the Junior Awards
Last Saturday evening the junior section gathered together for the annual dinner and prize giving which was a great success, with well over 200 attending. See all the photos below taken by Paul-Michel Ledoux.

NYC 29er pair wins Junior UK Inland championship
Coach Thomas Chaix travelled with two Irish 29er pairs to Grafham Waters in the UK over the weekend to compete at the Inlands. The two pairs competed in the 42 boats fleet. 8 races were sailed in 8 to 18 kts providing a range of conditions suiting all level of skills.
Small Craft Register â Irish Sailing want to hear from you!
Earlier this summer Irish Sailing asked boat owners for their experiences of sailing boats abroad, registering boat on the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sportâs Part 1 Register, registering with other flag states etc.
Irish Sailing are now requesting a meeting with the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and would like to ensure your voice is heard. - Family discount of 50% will apply to third and subsequent children in each family

Dublin Bay Armistice Commemoration 11th November 2018
On Sunday next, the 11th November many in Ireland will be remembering the deaths of family members in the war. In the afternoon DBSC will remember its own members who died in the conflict with a brief ceremony before the start of Turkey Shoot racing.
Procedure as follows:
Sound Signal. Reading from the committee vessel of the names of DBSC members killed in action during the First World War. Sound Signal and flags lowered. One minute silence. Sound signal. Flags raised.
Competitors are asked to observe the minuteâs silence.
