Optimist Munsterâs (Dunmore East) – Main fleet Coach support
The club will be providing coach support for the event, for Main Fleet Sailors
- Cost âŹ50 for the 2 days
- Limited to 8 sailors
- Please register by Monday 1st July
- This program is not open to sailors in the âRegatta Fleetâ, as they receive coaching from IODAI.

Optimist Munsterâs (Dunmore East) – NYC Pre-Event Main fleet coaching.
The club intends to provide a weekend of pre-event coaching ahead of the Optimist Leinsterâs, run from the club, for Main Fleet sailors.
- Saturday 6th July and Sunday 7th July
- Cost - âŹ60
- Times 9:30am-4:30pm
- Max number 8
- Please register by Monday 1st July
- This program is not open to sailors in the âRegatta Fleetâ, as they receive coaching from IODAI.

Well Done NYC Volunteers on a Marvellous Volvo Dun Laoghaire to Dingle Race
The cadre of NYC volunteers who organised and ran last weekendâs wonderfully successful D2D race, deserve our thanks and praise.
Commodore Martin McCarthy noted and named the team at the Competitors briefing last Wednesday â and Vice Commodore Conor OâRegan praised their efforts when he attended the huge Prize giving dinner last Saturday in the Dingle Skelligs Hotel.
The Volvo Dun Laoghaire to Dingle Race was conceived by National Yacht Club stalwart, Martin Crotty and is now a major bi-ennial event under the able chairmanship of Adam Winkelmann. This yearâs event was dispatched off the East pier at 6pm on Wednesday 12th June 2019, and the first boats were crossing the finish line less than 25 hours later.
Pre Instructor Assessment & Preparation

The NYC is running a Preâentry assessment course from Monday 19th to Thursday 22nd August
The cost of the course to include the days training is 150 Euros please use the form below to register Places are limited to 8 on a first come first served basis.
The exam has 2 separate parts - a theory/shore based paper and an on the water practical exam.

Subaru Flying Fifteen Worlds – Call for Volunteers
CALLING ON VOLUNTEERS FOR MEASUREMENT!
The National Yacht Club is hosting the Flying Fifteen World Championships from 1st to 13th September.
We expect up to 86 boats to enter the worlds and they all need to be measured and inspected for Class Rules compliance over 3 days: Saturday 31st August, Sunday 1st September and Thursday 5th September (day between the pre-Worlds and Worlds)
This is a fun way to get involved with this amazing event and to meet all the visitors coming from as far away as Hong Kong!
No previous experience as a measurer required as Class measurers will supervise the various stations (Control Desk / Weigh Station / Spars Inspection / Sails Measurement / Safety Checks)
