Events
Unfortunately due to adverse weather the Shanahan Cup at INSS was cancelled. It is expected that this event will be rescheduled for September/October.
The Leinster Schools Team Racing Championships is scheduled for 11th March at RStGYC https://www.rsgyc.ie/event/leinster-schools-team-racing-championship-2/
The National Schools Team Racing Championships is scheduled for 25th & 26th April at RStGYC - Details to follow. Nb. We are hoping to host the ISSA AGM at this event.
Topper Spring 2020 Coaching Programme – Sundays February / March
The NYC has an exciting Topper Spring Coaching Programme over 7 Sundays in February & March.
There will be 2 groups â advanced racers (who will have a full day: rigged for 09:30 for a 10:30 launch) and improvers (who will have Ÿ day coaching â rigged for 13:30 for a 14:00 launch)
We have 7 session regular coaching programme until Easter on the folowing dates: 2nd February, 9th February, 16th February (start of mid term week), 23rd February (end of mid term week), 1st March, 22nd March, 29th March.
The costs are:
âŹ210 for the advanced racers group,
âŹ140 for the improvers group
The programme is open to Toppers on the waterfront Clubs
NYC members can charter a Club Topper at a cost of âŹ100 for the 7 sessions (via the registration form)
NYC Optimist Spring Coaching 2020
The NYC has an exciting Optimist Spring 2020 Training Programme starting on Sunday 1st March and running for 5 Sundays until 29th March.
Dates: Sundays: 1st March, 8th March, 15th March, 22th March, 29th March

RS Feva Spring 2020 Club Coaching
The N.Y.C. is organising coaching for RS Fevas in February and March.

First Aid Course – Monday 17th February 2020
The NYC is organising a First Aid Course on Monday 17th February.
Times: 9:00am-5:00pm

Mid-Term Team Racing Clinic – Monday 17th & Tuesday 18th February 2020
Dear Parents
Please find below the link to the upcoming Team Racing clinic being held in RIYC over the midterm break. This is an Irish Sailing supported initiative and as such is offered at the remarkable price of âŹ25 for the 2 days of training.
The clinic is open to anyone who has a competent level of sailing experience. It would be most suitable for sailors who have attained Irish Sailing Level 3, or equivalent, and who are working through the modules of Level 4. Everyone is welcome, it is an open clinic and not exclusively for club members.
So, if your sailor has a friend who has sailed elsewhere and is keen to learn team racing, then they are very welcome! If your school is entering any of the upcoming inter schools team racing competitions, this would be of particular interest to them and is a perfect way for them to get vital time on the water, learning from qualified instructors!

Dun Laoghaire Youth Laser Coaching Spring Programme 2020
The Dun Laoghaire Youth Laser training program will be run as a collaboration between RSGYC and NYC but based out of the RSGYC.
This spring, we will specifically focus on preparing the 4.7 sailors for the trials at Easter time and the Radial sailors for the Europeans which will be in Ballyholme in early July 2020. Sailors who are graduating from Optimist or Topper where they competed in regional and national events will quickly adjust to the 4.7 and are welcome to join the coaching program.
