Transition Year 2020 / 2021 Programme – Expressions of interest
We have concocted a fantastic program for the 220/21 Transition Year (TY) students! It has been challenging to establish a TY programme whilst the current Covid Restrictions are in place as a result all dates, numbers and prices may be subject to change and cancellation depending on the then current Covid Situation.
Please note that the TY Program can only run if supported by volunteer parents. We will be looking for your assistance throughout the year and you will also be asked to volunteer during individual course registration sign upsâŠ
A summary of what we are planning to offer during the school year is PROVIDED HERE. Please study it carefully, then complete the Expression of Interest form by 10th July 2020 so we have an idea of our population.
Junior Summer Clinics Round 2 – 6th to 31st July
The NYC is continuing its Summer Junior training programme with 2 week long half day clinics for Optimists, Toppers and Lasers commencing Monday 6th July 2020.
These Clinics are for children of full and family members only.
They will be run by advanced instructors and are limited to 6 participants to ensure compliance with our national public health advice. The cost is âŹ320 per Clinic
It is also possible to charter a Club Topper or a Optimist (for Improving Skills levels only) for an additional âŹ70 /course.

All sailing Cancelled
Covid 19 and Sailing based on Government request for bars and pubs to close and social distancing requirements.
All organised sailing activity should cease with immediate effect and will be reviewed on 29th March.
Assistant Instructor Positions 2020
The National Yacht Club is currently seeking to recruit a team of committed and enthusiastic assistant instructors for our Summer Courses 2020. This role is relevant to any individual 16 or over with relevant certification who has completed Transition Year and is interested in encouraging children to learn how to sail under the direct supervision of NYC instructors at all times.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn from qualified coaches and instructors on how to lead and deliver sessions on training courses.

The summer course dates for our two week IS sailing courses in 2020 are as follows:
Course 1: Tues 2nd â Fri 12th June
Course 2: Mon 15th â Fri 26th June
Course 3: Mon 29th June â Fri 10th July
Course 4: Mon 13th July â Fri 24th July
Course 5: Mon 27th July âFri 7th Aug
We will be running the full suite of IS levels over each two week course (Start Sailing, Basic Skills, Improving Skills, Racing, Advanced Boat handling, Adventure
