Feva  After a number of years trying, Fevas have finally taken off in the NYC.  So far this year there are three member’s Feva on the hard with an additional five Fevas that can be chartered from the Club.  This gives us a great platform for some very exciting racing in 2014. The Feva is the main two-handed boat for juniors in the NYC and the reasons are simple:

  • Fevas are cheaper and easier to maintain
  • A lot of children prefer sailing with a buddy
  • Very good for spinnaker and jib experience
  • Pretty indestructible
.although
..Action packed racing can have its moments!!!

Although no age limit the Feva is best suited to the 11 – 15 age group and sailing it can complement sailing single-handed boats such as toppers and lasers. There are a number of events coming up in 2014 to watch out for and we hope all Feva owners will travel to a least one of these events:

  • Easterns – Greystones Sailing Club 12/13 April 2014
  • Northerns – Strangford Lough Yacht Club 21/22 June 2014
  • Westerns – Lough Ree Yacht Club 19/20 July 2014
  • Championships – Galway Bay SC 8-10 August 2014
  • Southerns – Kinsale Yacht Club 13/14 September 2014

Both the spring and autumn training courses have a dedicated Feva coaches and on a number of weeks during the summer courses specialist Feva clinics are also run.  And finally all going well we are hoping to start team racing in the Fevas this year.
