The aim of the ICC is to provide boat owners and people wishing to charter boats abroad with an internationally recognised document certifying their competence to skipper a boat for recreational use. It is the qualification needed to charter a yacht in Europe.
To achieve the qualification, it requires one day of classwork, an exam and a practical assessment. The course will be run by Yachtmaster Instructor, John Leahy.
- The theory will be taught during a one-day course on Saturday 7th January 0900-1600
- The exam with be on Monday 9th January 1800-2000
- The practical assessment will be scheduled through the Spring when the weather permits. This assessment requires a demonstration of boat handling – including leaving the pontoon; a triangular course under sail, anchoring, picking-up a mooring, MOB and return to pontoon.
