Finn Lynch is Afloat.ie Sailor of the month for December

We are delighted to congratulate Finn Lynch on winning Afloat.ie ‘Optimist Sailor of the Month’ for December 
Finn Lynch (21) of the National Yacht Club is the Afloat.ie “Sailor of the Month” (Olympic) on the strength of his Silver in the Lasers in the Gran Canaria Olympic Week in mid-December, sailing nine races in light to medium conditions. In a major event which was promoting Gran Canaria’s ambitions to become known as European Sport Island, Lynch successfully availed of the opportunity to up his game after intense training.

The sailing sub committee under Rear Commodore Susan Spain and Sailing Manager Olivier Prouveur are congratulated on achieving a Sports Capital Grant to assist with developing our "Youth Training" and "Women on the Water" training schemes in the club.

The award is an acknowledgement of the clubs commitment to training and developing our sport of sailing.

First Saturday race: 28th April 2018
Last Tuesday race 2018 : 28th August 2018
Last Thursday race 2018: 30th August 2018
Last Saturday race 2018: 29th September 2018

ISORA Celebrates 2017 Offshore at the National Yacht Club

240 ISORA competitors and guests attended the 2017 awards ceremony and dinner at the National Yacht Club in DĂșn Laoghaire on Saturday, and were treated to a champagne reception, followed by an outstanding four course meal devised and cooked by head chef Cormac Healy, served with fine wines and Jack Ryan “Beggars Bush” whisky to finish. ISORA chairman Peter Ryan kept the evening on track, with awards of both the perpetual trophies and Crystal glassware to the top three placed boats in all three fleets, plus prizes the individual results for all competitors in the 14 races series which started in April, and culminated in the season defining “James Eadie” 75 mile race from Pwllheli to DĂșn Laoghaire which this year decided the ISORA overall champion.
