NATIONAL YACHT CLUBâS MAGNIFICENT SEVEN RACE ACROSS THE ATLANTIC
Seven NYC Members are putting in a stunning performance in their first ever ARC Atlantic crossing â having passed the half way mark and coming close to the home stretch.
The seven, including Post Commodore Paul Barrington and former Hon. Treasurer Barry OâSullivan are less than 1000 Nautical Miles from the finish and all lying in a brilliant 6th place, overall.
The full team (L to R) in photos below is Paul Fagan, Paul Barrington, Brian Uniack, Dave OâReilly, Alan Daly, Barry OâSullivan and Teddy Murphy â all NYC Members.
They are sailing the majestic Swan 80, Umiko, which is proudly flying the NYC Burgee, all the way across the ocean.
The ARC is a âmust doâ for many sailors, and attracts over 200 boats and 1200 people every year to sail 2700 NM across the Atlantic from Gran Canaria to Saint Lucia.
