Be part of the Action! Be part of the Team! Volunteer on & off the water workshop – Saturday 9th March

Following on from our volunteer’s information evening on Thursday 8th February, the National Yacht Club is hosting a workshop on volunteering both on and off the water. This will be held on Saturday 9th March at 10am in the NYC.

It will run for 2 hours and include short talks on:
● Working on a committee boat - including Flags, sound Signals, Recording and Timing
● A practical session on board the DBSC committee boat Freebird which will be alongside, to run through Race start scenarios with a Race Officer on board
● Working in the race office

It will be a great opportunity to hear from others who have enjoyed volunteering and making new friends while helping the Waterfront Clubs run many successful events. You will no doubt
hear many amusing tales!!
The workshop is open to anyone who might like a pre-season refresher or who is considering getting involved for the first time either on or off the water this season.

So, this is open to All Waterfront club members. You don’t need any particular experience or skills, you just need enthusiasm and the desire to meet other volunteers. Yes, we would also like experienced sailors and race teams but if you are that parent ashore or a member who is new to sailing and the club, there are lots of ways you can join in the fun.

If you are interested, please complete the form here.

 Staff Christmas & Noah’s Ark Fund 2023

Dear Members

Once again, we have had a busy and enjoyable year with numerous events held at the National Yacht Club.

These events have been extremely well supported by all of you and the staff have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and looking after you.

The size and popularity of these events are growing every year, and the staff have risen to the challenge in wonderful fashion and maintained the standards of which we are so proud.

The Staff Christmas Fund & Noah’s Ark Fund gives you an opportunity to show your thanks for the excellent work they do over the whole year.

There will be a Staff Christmas & Noah’s Ark Fund box left in the bar, or use the online form below.

The staff fund & Noah’s Ark is divided and distributed to all the staff by way of a bonus.

May we take this opportunity to thank you all for the support over 2023, and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
