Cruising Adventure – Wherever the wind takes us!

Cruising Adventure – Wherever the wind takes us!

Our Cruising Group will set sail 13th - 15th September; “Wherever the wind takes us” long weekend cruise.

Due to the unpredictable winds we have been getting over the last couple of seasons, we are suggesting a final cruise of the season without actually specifying a destination.

We will simply look at the forecast a few days beforehand and agree a favourable destination.

Something Else Take Home Scottish Series Trophy

Something Else Take Home Scottish Series Trophy

Huge Congratulations to Our Very Own Something Else!
We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the incredible success of Something Else, the National Yacht Club’s J/109 helmed by our very own Brian Hall, who along with his phenomenal crew has lifted the prestigious Scottish Series Trophy—the top overall award at this historic regatta!
With six firsts from eight races in IRC Class 2, it was a truly dominant performance, the result of years of dedication, expert teamwork, and continuous improvement. Special credit to Mark Mansfield, four-time Olympian, for his tactical brilliance, and to the whole crew—Dave Egan, Zoe Hall, Fletcher Thomson, James Hall, Paddy Madigan, Sheena Bowers, Dave Hofler, and Alan Daly—for sailing their hearts out. We couldn’t be prouder.
Brian summed it up perfectly: “It is wonderful, magic, I am in heaven... Everybody really pushed the boat this week.”
Not only did Something Else win her class by 10 points, but she also claimed the overall Scottish IRC Championship title. A phenomenal and well-earned victory—congratulations team!

And a Second Huge Congratulations to Johnny Treanor and the Crew of ValenTina!
Flying the Irish flag proudly once again, ValenTina, the J/122 skippered by Johnny Treanor, delivered a flawless performance in the highly competitive IRC Coastal Class—winning all four races to secure the class victory.
Their effort was recognised with the Causeway Cup, awarded for the best performance by a boat from outside Scotland (other than the overall winner). It’s a true testament to the skill, grit, and determination of Johnny and his team.  What an achievement!

Two outstanding boats. Two exceptional teams. Two huge wins for NYC Teams.

We’re bursting with pride—well done Something Else and ValenTina!
