Wherever the wind takes us!

Wherever the wind takes us!

Dear Cruisers,

As you can see from the following schedule the cruising group has an extensive plan for this upcoming year. It does help us with the planning if we have some indication of the level of interest and destination preferences.

At present, we are focusing on the June bank holiday weekend cruise, “wherever the wind takes us”. You may remember last year we tried to sail to the Isle of Man, but ultimately, we had great support (and great fun) at the alternative destinations. This year we have decided not “to tempt fate!”, so instead will decide much closer to the time a likely destination, taking into account the forecasted wind and weather conditions and preference of members.

As promised, spring has arrived and the flowers bloomed at the quiz on Wednesday, 4th March. For one bed of roses, namely Stars of the Sea, this nearly resulted in a first win of the season, but their green fingers could not get them all the way to the flower show and they were pipped on the line by the denizens of Gardeners’ World that are Enchantress. This was Enchantress’s second win of the series and puts them in 4th place overall in the league table. T.B.M. won some valuable points by coming 3rd, ahead of Wizard, Chancellors, and the Celtic Boys. Flying starts by Tango and Celtic Warriors could not be maintained, and F-15 maintained their improved form.
