Following on from the tremendous success of our two wine appreciation courses, we are delighted to launch the National Yacht Club’s brand-new Sailing Sippers Wine Club!

This exciting new venture is all about bringing members together once a month to continue building on the knowledge from our courses—while, of course, enjoying a fabulous selection of wines in a warm, social, and relaxed setting.

Expect lively chats, plenty of laughs, and the chance to connect with fellow members who share a love of wine and good company.

 

Open to all members, Sailing Sippers promises to be a highlight of the club calendar.

 

Registration for our first evening, led by Neville Whisker on Thursday the 23rd is now live on the Smart Club App, booking is essential â€” so gather your crew, secure your spot, and get ready for an unforgettable evening of sipping, socialising, and sailing-inspired camaraderie.

Brains of the Bay Winners

Brains of the Bay Winners

All good things come to an end. On Wednesday night (1st April – no joke) Páid Cassidy’s Wizard were successful in regaining their Brains of the Bay title.

Wizard have been consistently at the top of the leaderboard for a few seasons now and we are still trying to find out their quiz weaknesses. Next year, questions will be based on the personal lives of Tango, Chancellors, and Harmerang to foil the Brainiest of the Bay.

We suspect that Tango, Chancellors, and Harmerang might not though do any better notwithstanding. T.B.M. finished a strong second overall, close to Wizard, and well clear of the third-placed Celtic Boys who showed strong end-of-season form. Ever reliable Enchantress came fourth overall, with Quiztopher Columbus and Chancellors finishing ahead of weakening former champions Corner Boys, in fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.

Mentions also go to Stars of the Sea, The Dirty Ruckers, and Harmerang for completing the list of the top-ten teams.
