South Dublin Drawing started life drawing sessions in The National Yacht Club back in September 2018. They had originated during 2017 in Ranelagh and due to the loss of the Arts Centre in Ranelagh and with no premises were delighted to have the use of the space at the National Yacht Club.
The talk will centre on drawing and the artist. It will cover a brief history of the nude in art from the early drawings in caves to the great masters and the contemporary.
Drawing is essential for any arts practice and the figure is probably one of the most difficult subjects for the artist. The exhibition will show the work of the artists involved while also showing drawings and paintings of boats, yachts and the sea.
