Adult Pre-Summer 2024 Laser & RS Aero Coaching Sessions – Sunday Mornings

Adult Pre-Summer 2024 Laser & RS Aero Coaching Sessions – Sunday Mornings

Welcome back to the NYC summer platform! Following demand in a growing group of sailors and to launch the summer racing season, the first coaching series is proposed. The coaching is open to all ILCA rigs and all Aero rigs. It is aiming at sailors wishing to progress their skills in a race environment (speed, rules, starts, mark rounding, tactical decisions...). The sessions are usually but not exclusively sailed inside the harbour on short and intense drills allowing a large variability of experience to enjoy the training. These sessions can be complemented by one on one training. Contact Thomas at headcoach@nyc.ie for details.

It will be delivered by experienced coaches starting this Sunday with Ellie Cunnane (former Academy laser sailors).  The programme is open to all Waterfront club sailors and sessions will start at 9.30 and are expected to be finished by 12.30 with a short debrief before enjoying the traditional club lunch (and enjoying the lunch whilst discussing the outcomes of the morning afloat).

28-04 - coach Ellie Cunnane
12-05 - coach TBA
19-05 - coach Thomas Chaix
02-06 - coach Thomas Chaix

Cost of the programme: 100EUR/sailor - A "by session" option is possible at 30EUR/sailor

Platform Clearance for the Lift-in 2024!

Platform Clearance for the Lift-in 2024!

Dear Winter Platform Parking users.

The Winter Platform Parking Season is coming to an end on Sunday 7th April and we need a total platform clearance of all the dinghies and other types currently on the deck and / or on racks to make room for the lift-in which is scheduled for Saturday 13th April.

If your boat is not in use in one of the Club organised training anymore please make sure to come and collect it as soon as possible as the skeleton boathouse staff needs to reconfigure the platform well in advance of the lift-in and to reposition, or partially dismantle the racks used by the Opis, Toppers, Lasers and RS Aeros.

ALL dinghies must be removed by Sunday 7th April 18:00 at the very latest.

Please note that we do not have room to store any boat even temporarily on the Carlisle Pier until the platform reopens for the Summer parking season and cannot facilitate any such request.

The Committee is currently reviewing the demand for platform space from the various user groups this summer (junior dinghy sailors / adult dinghy sailors / single handed / 2 handed boats / keelboat dry sailing) and will have to limit the various classes of boats to strict numbers.

The Boathouse will allocate Parking Spaces on the Platform based on historic demand and any current assumptions that may impact that. This means that the number of parking spaces for each type of craft will pre-determined and that a number of rounds of allocations based on priority rules soon to be published will take place successively.

The online summer platform parking application form will open on Tuesday 2nd April - For full details and the set of rules governing access to the Club platform this summer, please visit: https://nyc.ie/summer-platform-parking-form/
