NYC’s FINN LYNCH JUMPS TO SECOND IN WORLD RANKING

Aug 22, 2022 | Home Page Featured, News

Our own Finn Lynch’s recent run of superb results has been reflected in the latest World Rankings,  issued this week by World Sailing.

Finn is now ranked second in the world – up from 20th – and by far the highest ranking ever of an Irish Men’s Laser Sailor.

The move up the rankings is a great boost to Irish Sailing prospects for Paris 2024 and comes on the heels of Finn’s superb second at the ILCA6 2021 World Championships in Barcelona in November – and  brilliant sixth place at the 2022 World Championships in Mexico a few weeks ago..

Finn was back in the National Yacht Club this week – and even took time for a sail training session – before heading back to his training base in Palma.

“I am thrilled with this move up the rankings. It shows that the program we are following is moving strongly in the right direction.”

Finn and his family have been members of the National Yacht Club since he was 12 and it is ten years since he won silver at the ISAF Youth Worlds, co-hosted by the NYC, in 2012.
