4 NYC Members nominated in Afloat’s Sailor of the Year competition – VOTE NOW!
NYC members Hugh O'Connor, Tom Dolan, Mark Lyttle, and Vicky Cox & Peter Dunlop, are in the running for the prestigious Afloat Irish Sailor of the Year competition! Vote for them now!
On Friday, February 8, our judging panel will announce the Sailor of the Year at the RDS in Dublin â and you can have your say by voting in our poll on any page of the Afloat website.
Interested in joining Irish Sailing as Team Racing Development Officer ?
Irish Sailing is putting together a funding application to support our Team Racing strategy and is seeking quotes for a contractor to develop the programme starting late Spring of 2019 with a tight timeline for the funding application of 18 January.
They are seeking quotes from self-employed contractors, for a one-year, full time, initial contract as Irish Sailingâs Team Racing Development Officer. Registration for our TY Laser course opens at 3pm today, January 9th.
Date of Laser Training: Feb 13th â 27th Mar (no sailing on 20th Feb)
Time: 6 Wednesday afternoons 2 - 5pm
Cost: âŹ130
Boats: Own boats only â no charter options from the NYC. If students want to rent a boat, they will need to organise themselves.

Once again, we have had a busy and enjoyable year with numerous events held at the National Yacht Club.
These events have been extremely well supported by all of you and the staff have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and looking after you.
The size and popularity of these events are growing every year, and the staff have risen to the challenge in wonderful fashion and maintained the standards of which we are so proud.
The Staff Christmas Fund gives you an opportunity to show your thanks for the excellent work they do over the whole year.
There will be a staff Christmas fund box left in the bar and I would ask that you give generously.
This fund is divided and distributed to all the staff by way of a bonus.
May we take this opportunity to thank you all for the support over 2018, and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
