Friday Night Junior Racing will be starting on 10 May, running for 6 consecutive Fridays with a final night of racing on 14th June.
The Organising Authorities in 2024 are: RSGYC (17 May, 31 May and 14 June) and NYC (10 May, 24 May and 7 June). The series is open to all youth sailors from the RSGYC, NYC, RIYC and DMYC (those under 19 on 1st January 2024).
All races will be in the harbour. It is great way to gain racing experience in safe conditions and have fun at the same time.
The series is available to Optimists, Toppers, Lasers (radial and 4.7), PYs (single and 2-handed), and RS Fevas.
Barbecue and prize-giving will take place on the final day of racing (Friday 14 June) in the NYC, as soon as racing has completed.
When entering for the series, please make sure to enter the correct sail number. Any corrections to entered sail numbers can be advised in person at the NYC during registration on the first night of racing. Registration is on Friday 10 May between 4.30-5.30pm at the NYC. You are only required to attend registration if you want to change your sail number.
Any subsequent changes in sail number must be communicated to the Organising Authority (RSGYC and NYC) before 5.30pm on each subsequent day of racing to be effective for the races sailed on that day.
