Amidst the seismic geopolitical upheavals the world is experiencing, none is more attentively watched than the NYC Quiz leaderboard. Worldwide media exploded to the news that T.B.M. finally prevailed over the establishment bastions that are Wizard. A tense engagement between many teams throughout Wednesday night saw no less than four teams tied for the lead ahead of the last round. The Motor Buoys and The Dirty Ruckers cracked, but held on to tie for third place. Wizard held firm, but a stronger effort from perennial runners-up T.B.M. to get a perfect final round saw them gain the spoils. Old glories Enchantress and Corner Boys finished in behind.
The result allows Wizard to look down on all from the top of the overall leaderboard, followed by T.B.M. and the Corner Boys. Chancellors and Quiztopher Columbus sit in a healthy fifth. With poor results still able to be discounted all teams have a chance of occupying these places in the weeks ahead. Echoing the language of TOTP, Motor Buoys climb six places to number 11.
The Christmas Dinner Quiz will take place in two weeksâ time, on the 17th December. Dinner will be at 7.00 for 7.30, with the quiz starting at 8.30. All are welcome.

Dear Members,
As we come to the end of another year at the National Yacht Club, we want to say how grateful we are for all the wonderful moments weâve shared. It has been a busy and enjoyable year, filled with events that were made truly special by your support and presence.
Our staff have loved meeting you, catching up with you, and looking after you throughout the seasons.
As our events continue to grow in size and popularity, the staff have embraced the challenge with kindness, enthusiasm, and great careâupholding the welcoming atmosphere and high standards that make our Club feel like home.
Each year, the Staff Christmas Fund and Noahâs Ark Fund offer a chance to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our staff.
A collection box will be placed in the bar, and an online form is also available below for anyone who prefers to contribute that way.
All contributions are shared among the staff as a Christmas bonus, and they are always deeply appreciated.
Thank you sincerely for your support throughout 2025.
We wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, and peaceful New Year.

Dear Members (IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE)
Please use the Club slipway with caution! It was unfortunately quite badly damaged last weekend and some surface concrete was washed away leaving a significant groove constituting a tripping hazard on the left-hand side half of the slipway (as you launch a boat).
This is only visible at certain levels of the tide as illustrated with these pictures (PLEASE MAKE SURE TO LOOK AT THEM HERE) but the joint in the middle of the slipway and visible all the time also marks the limit of the broken part...so please use only the Eastern side of the slipway!
The slip should be repaired on December 12th (for tides), weather depending.
On Monday, November 10th at 5:27âŻp.m. local time (9:27âŻp.m. UTC), Mini Skippy and I crossed the finish line in Saint-François, Guadeloupe.
After more than 16 days alone at sea, we completed this Atlantic crossing aboard a 6.50 meter boat, without assistance, without communication, relying on my training, skill and resilience.
The final miles delivered a thrilling showdown: a side-by-side sprint with another competitor to secure 20th place in the production boat ranking.
As the finish line appeared on the horizon, Mini Skippy was behind Antoine Canivetâs pink boat, having overtaken him during the night and then fallen back. I knew I had to make a move and switching into match racing mode, I used the gusts and waves glide slightly downwind, and with a little burst of speed came level before overtaking his pink boat just meters before the line. I knew that with the first leg cancelled, this was it. Not the moment to give up.
After more than two weeks, 2,600 miles sailed, and an entire ocean crossed, we clinched the finish in a photo finish, just 27 seconds ahead.
