Summer Course Registrations are opened
The Junior Committee is happy to announce that the Summer Courses 2023 are now open for booking for all NYC members.
The booking will remain open until midnight on Monday 22 May 2023.
As previously advertised, we will be running the full suite of IS levels and are additionally offering some custom courses. Places will be allocated on a first-come/first-served basis. We intend to offer all courses published, but this will depend on demand and minimum numbers per course.
If you are unsure which course is right for your young sailor, you can check the ISA website for a description of the standard courses by clicking here: Dinghy, Keelboat & Catamaran Sailing (List of courses under the Course Syllabi heading)
Feedback from parents has told us that demand for specific courses is hard to predict running into the summer. For this reason, we have decided that we will not cap the number of places per course at the point of booking. This will allow us to respond more flexibly to your needs and scale-up to meet demand where possible.
What this means for you is: If there has not been sufficient interest in a course you have booked or if a course has been oversubscribed, we will be in touch before 15 May 2023 (within 1 week of booking closing) to offer you an alternative course or a full refund.

HYC Lambay Race – Saturday 3rd June 2023
Howth Yacht Club is pleased to advise that the Lambay Races will take place on Saturday, June 3rd , this year.
The starting areas will be in the vicinity of Howth Harbour and boats will race north to round Lambay Island before returning to finish beside Irelandâs Eye.
This is a key event of Howth YCâs sailing season and is unique on the Irish sailing calendar in providing the challenges of an offshore race in a manner that allows boats of all sizes to savour point to point racing around a course that always poses challenges.
Local features such as headlands, inlets, high ground and a range of water depths require decisions about which should be sought or avoided, all the time while crews enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Fingal coast and the islands that mark the north and south ends of the racecourse.
