SUMMARY:Women at the Helm
DESCRIPTION:The National Yacht Club is delighted to once again host the Women at the Helm Regatta and looks forward to a great weekend’s celebration of women’s sailing on Dublin Bay – and some great fun back on shore in the social programme. \nWomen at the Helm is an annual sailing regatta for dinghy and keelboat racing\, where all boats are helmed (captained) by women. Now in its third year\, the event will take place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August 2022 at the National Yacht Club. \nWomen at the Helm encourages women into positions of leadership\, and to set an annual sailing goal – it may be a move from crew to helm\, first time entry into a national event\, or simply from a role ashore onto a boat.   The aim is for women sailors to step up\, lead the way\, or support others to take the helm and be the best they can be\, on and off the water. \nThe event sponsors Sia Partners Management Consultants has a long-standing relationship with Irish Sailing and their support for Women at the Helm brings their commitment to empowering people and supporting them in their leadership roles from the office to the water.   We are delighted to have them on board. \nThe event is open to both dinghy and keelboat racing\, from teens to seniors.  All are welcome to enter the but helms and 50% of each crew must be women. \nPrizes are awarded for Under-25 teams\, all-women teams\, over 60s and by class\, including Ireland’s only club team prize of the Roy Family Club Perpetual Trophy. \nENTER THE REGATTA HERE:  https://www.sailing.ie/Events/Irish-Sailing-Women-at-the-Helm#2005  \nTo find out more about Women at the Helm: https://www.sailing.ie/Events/Irish-Sailing-Women-at-the-Helm \nWatch a film of the last event here: https://youtu.be/Qr3htvkqJmU \nNOR is available here: https://www.sailing.ie/Portals/0/documents/2022/Racing/2022%20NOR%20WATH%202022%20%2811%20march%202022%29.pdf \nSIs will be available here on 24th August:
