Harbour to Harbour Riders
An attempt to sail down the Grand Canal, in aid of DLR Special Needs activities
A 200 km trip in the beautiful new Shannon One Design âSODâ lake boat, armed with a special sail, the spinnaker pole and eight fenders from the newly restored Dublin Bay 24 â both traditional boats recently completed by Brittany wooden boat building school Skol Ar Mor.
Chris Craig & crew will take on the 130 km & 44 canal locks in stage 1 of this epic journey from Dun Laoghaire and Ringsend Harbours to Shannon Harbour - assisted by a new electric outboard motor kindly supplied by Irish Ship & Barge Fabrication Co. Then a 60 km lake sail onwards to Dromineer in time for their annual regatta.
Mitsubishi motors present Irish sailing club of the year to the national yacht club
Mitsubishi Motors Ireland last night presented the magnificent wheel trophy for the Irish Sailing Club of the Year 2018, to the National Yacht Club at an award ceremony in the Club, last night (8 May 2018) The Trophy was made 40 years ago for the initial awarding of the âIrish Sailing Club of the Yearâ and over that last 21 years, Mitsubishi Motors Ireland have generously sponsored the coveted award.
Midweek Nippers – Registrations now open
We have just opened the nipperâs course to potential members as their one course to try (once per family). The course cost âŹ100, But there will be an additional charge for this courses of âŹ50 ONLY 3 PLACES LEFT
In May and June every year the Club runs coaching sessions one evening a week for Minors from 6 to 8 years old.
This is very popular and is a great way, particularly for children and parents to make new friends.
The sailing is done in Optimists and no boat is required. Come and try some fun sailing no boat needed.
Starting on Wednesday 16th of May for 6 weeks (until 20th June) and running from 1730 to 1930.
First Aid Course – May 2018
By popular demand, we are organising another 1st Aid course on Saturday 26th May 2018.

Master Marinator – Friday 11th May
Come along and support your fantastic chefs in the mater Marinator competition
this takes place on Friday 11th May 2018 @ 7.30pm price is âŹ35.00 per person
watch as Susan Spain, Barry O'Sullivan and Mark Doyle go head to head to create an amazing three course meal. They have chosen their menu and with a little help from our fantastic head chef Cormac Healy they will hopefully produce a fantastic meal that wins them the title of Master Marinator!!!

Entries now open for the Ulsterâs
The first event of the IODAI 2018 calendar is the Ulsterâs. This year we are delighted to have the event hosted by Malahide Yacht Club.
The Ulsterâs are taking place over the weekend of May 19th & 20th.
Entries are now open for the Ulsterâs and we would encourage you to enter as soon as possible.
- Entry for the Ulsters is âŹ60:00 and the early entry fee closes at 10pm (sharp) on Friday 4th From May 4th the fee goes up to âŹ120:00
- Final closing date is Wed 9th May, at 10pm sharp

Update on The Traveller in the RNIYC
Congratulations to Hugh O'Connor and Natasha Hemeryck who came first and second respectively at the Traveller in the RNIYC on Sunday 29th April. Conditions were very good with a consistent breeze and plenty of sunshine and a strong fleet of 48 sailors from all over the country.
