The annual Freshwater Regatta hosted by LDYC in Dromineer incorporated the Flying Fifteen West Coast Championships and was deservedly won by the National Yacht Clubs David Mulvin and the clubs Commodore Ronan Beirne with Rory & Andy Martin (SLSC) one point behind in second place. Despite Storm Brian’s best efforts the regatta was not all lost as 4 races were raced on Sunday after Saturdays cancellation. As forecasted the winds had moderated in this area for Sunday.

The largest ever gathering of 'foiling machines' in Ireland took place at the National Yacht Club hosting the Drushambo Gunpowder Gin 2017 Moth & Waszp Class Irish Championships from September 28th to October 1st. The Moths were accompanied for the first time by the first ever Irish gathering of 6 new Waszp One Design boats.
