Following on from our volunteerâs information evening on Thursday 8th February, the National Yacht Club is hosting a workshop on volunteering both on and off the water. This will be held on Saturday 9th March at 10am in the NYC.
It will run for 2 hours and include short talks on:
â Working on a committee boat - including Flags, sound Signals, Recording and Timing
â A practical session on board the DBSC committee boat Freebird which will be alongside, to run through Race start scenarios with a Race Officer on board
â Working in the race office
It will be a great opportunity to hear from others who have enjoyed volunteering and making new friends while helping the Waterfront Clubs run many successful events. You will no doubt
hear many amusing tales!!
The workshop is open to anyone who might like a pre-season refresher or who is considering getting involved for the first time either on or off the water this season.
So, this is open to All Waterfront club members. You donât need any particular experience or skills, you just need enthusiasm and the desire to meet other volunteers. Yes, we would also like experienced sailors and race teams but if you are that parent ashore or a member who is new to sailing and the club, there are lots of ways you can join in the fun.
If you are interested, please complete the form here.
