Some of our NCY junior sailors are participating in the Connaughts 2019 Optimist regional competition this weekend.
They are being hosted by the welcoming Lough Ree Yacht Club. As well as competitive sailing there's a great social aspect for the sailors and parents with BBQs and movies being shown.

The 2019 Laser Nationals took place this year in Ballyholme from the 22 to the 25th of August in testing conditions. Three NYC members were amongst the prize winners. Conor Gorman was third in the laser 4.7 fleet. Ronan Wallace won the laser full rig national title and Clare Gorman won the Girls national title in the laser radial class.

NYC sailors brave Howthâs heavy winds and high seas at 2019 Irish Optimist National Championships
15 â 18 August 2019, 21 young NYC sailors headed to Howth to compete in the 2019 Irish open national championships. With a total of 144 main fleet sailors and 41 regatta sailors vying for the top spots, competition was tough, including visiting sailors from the USA, Portugal, Finland, the UK, Germany and the Virgin Islands.
