The Davy National Yacht Club Junior Regatta

The Davy National Yacht Club Junior Regatta

The Davy National Yacht Club Junior Regatta was held last week with blue skies, fair winds and plenty of sunshine. There were 101 boats registered with 119 sailors from across all the waterfront clubs. It was our first full regatta since Covid and the stars aligned for us on the day.

Registration went like clockwork thanks to Sandra Moore and Henrietta O’Regan, and the sailors were delighted with their goody bags where they got sun caps and water bottles thanks to Davy and really important on such a hot day.

The club welcomed its juniors with a special playlist to get everyone in the spirit.

After the briefing by our Race Officers Chris Moore and Alan Balfe, our safety officers Alan Daly and Fiona Feguson gave their briefings.

All launched smoothly thanks to Gavin Denn, Louise Reeser on slip and Rebecca Hall our Beachmaster.

On the water there was great  competitive sailing  and you can see the great action shots taken by Michael Chester of our sailors on the water.

RS Feva Irish National Championships – NYC Report

RS Feva Irish National Championships – NYC Report

The RS Feva Irish National Championships from 1-3 July attracted 26 entries from Dun Laoghaire, Howth, Malahide, Greystones and the UK to Dublin Bay.

The NYC team of 9 boats and 18 heros, making us the largest club at the event, trundled across to the west side of the harbour ready for battle.
Three days of racing out of the Royal Irish Yacht Club saw all weather conditions for the 52 sailors, many new to the Feva class — making the championship both challenging and a test of skill and learning.
