The National yacht club welcomes you

Welcome to the official website of the National Yacht Club — a home for sailors, families, and enthusiasts alike on the beautiful shores of Dublin Bay.

Our Story

Located at the historic East Pier in Dún Laoghaire, our club has enjoyed a rich maritime tradition and community atmosphere for well over a century. We pride ourselves on blending serious sailing — dinghy racing, offshore adventures, keelboats — with the warmth of a welcoming social club.

What We Offer

  • Superb sailing facilities: slipway directly from the clubhouse into the harbour, over eighty club moorings, platform parking, pontoons, fuelling, water, crane-lifting — all the essentials for modern boating.
  • A full calendar of events year-round: competitive racing on Dublin Bay and beyond, cruising opportunities, training for all levels, and a lively social side with quiz nights, wine dinners, and more.
  • A sense of community: we value a family ethos, support, and fellowship, whether you’re a lifelong sailor or just discovering the sport.

WATH Speaker Supper

WATH are delighted to welcome Pamela Lee to the line-up for our Speaker Supper on Friday, 12th June. Pamela joins us fresh from competing in the CIC Normandy Channel Race aboard her Class40 yacht, #EMPOWHER.

One of Ireland’s leading offshore sailors and a world record holder, she is currently campaigning towards her ambition of becoming the first Irish sailor to compete in the legendary Route du Rhum.

Limited tickets are still available. Members can book via the app, while non-members can visit www.nyc.ie/regatta for the booking link.

These exceptional offers will appeal not only to racing sailors looking for every performance advantage, but also to owners who take pride in maintaining a clean hull and keeping their boats sailing at their best.

To see how much your boat could save under either package, simply CLICK HERE complete the form.

Volunteer Day – Sunday June 7th

Your Generosity at Work

We’re delighted to announce our Volunteer’s Day on Sunday, June 7th, and we’re calling on club members to lend a hand in helping spruce up the club for the season ahead.

We’re looking for volunteers to help with painting, cleaning, tidying, and tending to the outside areas of the club.

It’s planned as an all-day event, with members welcome to join us for either the morning session, the afternoon session, or both.

To keep everyone fuelled, sandwiches with tea and coffee will be provided at lunchtime, and we’ll round off the day with a well-earned wet supper and a drink in the evening.

Whether you can spare a couple of hours or the whole day, your help would be greatly appreciated and will make a real difference to the club.

Greystones Cruise

The May Bank Holiday weekend marked the first National Yacht Club Cruising Group “Sail in Company” of the season from Dún Laoghaire to Greystones. Thirteen boats and more than 60 crew took part in the 10-nautical-mile passage in a gentle north-easterly breeze of 8–12 knots. With a light following sea and many yachts flying asymmetric sails, the fleet enjoyed near-perfect early-season sailing conditions.
